To many of us who were very close to her, we all called her Mama Arise and Shine. That was the business name and identity of Mrs. Christy Olusade Olusanya, also known as Mama Joshua.

Since our paths crossed, mine representing PTL News, a Christian Media outfit, and hers, Arise Shine Ventures, a medical and caring service oriented business, it has been a journey of mutual benefits, sharing experiences, learning from each other and gaining from each other.

I cannot specifically recall how the journey started but there were landmarks and lasting memories of the relationship till she breathed her last.

To me, she was a big sister, a woman who was not only interested in my personal welfare but the well-being of my business and even my family. She was a perfect gist mate. She would always have something new to share with me anytime we met, or had any reason to call each other.

I cannot forget how for many years we used every edition of PTL News to say something about her and her business. When we had the honour of being on air via a cable television, we were both there together as a family.

The closeness has also seen me, and PTL News feature in many of her family ceremonies, functions and affairs, the naming of her grandchildren and the burial of her mother some years back.

She has not also missed in any of the actions of the open celebration of PTL News whenever we chose to roll out the drum. She has also been a beneficiary of our PTL News Awards For Excellence.

That was how close we have been together.

She was a caring woman, very kind also to a fault. She would always wish you whatever she wished herself, always wanting better life for those who were very close to her.

Anytime she noticed a slack in my health, being a medical person, she would not only point it out but she would help with basic tests and give commensurate medications to take care of the ailment.

She was a woman I admired a lot. She was a woman of great courage, very energetic, industrious and ever willing to know more. A woman that was wholly dedicated to her business and life. It was to her credit that she nursed and nurtured her medical venture to a service that was a blessing to all and sundry, far and wide.

That reminds me of when she felt she needed to study to acquire more knowledge. She went all out for it. She registered for WAEC’s General Certificate in Education, (GCE), and later proceeded to Tai Solarin College of Education where she registered for her degree course, which she studied up to Doctoral level. She did not just go alone but went with some of her staff. She became a student once again, as a grandmother, and she was a mother to her fellow students.

That was Madam Olusanya at her best.

Another side of Mama Arise that could not be waved aside was her spiritual life. She was a woman that loved God. She was a woman of the word of God and prayer. Mama Arise was a woman of strong passion and dedication to what was of God.

As she has left us behind now to go to meet her creator, we cannot but remember her for her good works.

We wish to commiserate with members of her immediate family, the son Joshua and the grandchildren, as well as her siblings at this moment of their grief.

We pray for the repose of her soul as we will also continue to remember those she left behind in our prayers.

Mrs. Christy Olusanya gave up her ghost on Saturday 20th April 2024, at her middle age of 62 years.

According to family sources, the burial ceremonies take place at her residence, 15, Adeleye Street, Barrack bus Stop, Off Command Road, Ipaja area of Lagos State.

May her precious soul rest in perfect peace.
