FM Barring all odds, all arrangements have been concluded to see to the smooth take-off of Vicinity 95.3 FM Ikeji-Ile on Monday June 3, 2024.
This was confirmed to PTL News by the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Phillip Abiodun Badewa from his US base.
According to him all arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth take off of the station come Monday June 3, 2024.
Presently, following the official visit and inspection of the representatives of the Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria BON, Vicinity FM has been on Test transmission between the hours of 9.00 and 20.00 each day for some times now.
When it fully takes off, listeners would be made to enjoy rich and well packaged programmes by the highly qualified and experienced professionals already assembled for the great assignments.
The medical doctor cum media merchant CEO promised to give the station the best in terms of facilities, equipment and resources, as he promised that preparations have been made to bring in equipment that would help the station to cover live programmes and events from far and near.
This is seen as a boost to those who organize social events, preachers, church and religious leaders in the neighbouring communities and areas under the coverage of the station. Those who want to give live coverage to their marriages, burials, birthdays, and crusades must get ready for this.
Other programmes expected by listeners are very rich chit chat and talk programmes bordering the neighbouring communities, programmes that will also boost the moral and cultural values of the communities.
Also in a chat, the General Manager, a veteran broadcaster and media manager of note, Winston Akpabio assured listeners to expect nothing but the very best from Vicinity 95.3 FM.
“Our programmes here will not leave anybody out. The grassroot here will have a sense of belonging, we will give our listeners robust news items and coverage of events, we also want to assure our neighbouring state governments in Osun, Ekiti, Ondo, Oyo to even Kwara, Delta and Edo of our supports, cooperation and wide coverage of their programmes and events.”
Other exciting and inspiring programmes listeners are promised are inclusive and participatory phone in programmes, informed interviews, focus on development and challenges in the grass roots, coverage of local activities and careers, exposure of our historical landmarks, our food, culture and tradition.
The royal fathers were also told to prepare for the coming of Vicinity FM as the crew will be visiting them to throw more light on their communities, and this would provide the opportunity for them to speak to the world about their communities, their challenges, needs and aspirations, through which the government and benefactors would come to help them out.
Education is also held paramount in the programming of Vicinity FM. The station according to Dr. Badewa who is also a product of Ikeji Ile High School and University of Lagos, would do a lot and go the extra length to promote education and academic works among the students. Students are enjoined to prepare themselves to feature on the different slots allotted to them.
