On Thursday February 27, 2020 the President, of CAC Worldwide Pastor Abraham Olukunle Akinosun clocked 75 years. The celebration was quietly marked in the nature of the celebrant, as some of his principal officers were said to pay him a surprise visit in his offical residence in the city of Ibadan where the Church has his headquarters.
The team included the General Superintendent Pastor Samuel Oladele, the General Secretary Pastor Emmanuel Mapur, the Financial Director, Pastor Johnson Omitinde, the Mission Director Pastor C. S. Fasuyi, the Director of Publicity, Pastor Ade Alawode, Youth Director Pastor Gbuyiro and a few others. The celebrant who acknowledged the surprise visit expressed his appreciation to God and his well wishers as he rose to the highest age as a minister in the Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide. His guests took the advantage to pray for him and wish him the very best beyond the celebration.
Meanwhile, it has been a season of outpouring encomiums, and good will messages for the incumbent and the 7th CAC President who may be on his way out as he has clocked the statutory age of 75 for retirement as a Pastor in CAC.
The man of God on his birthday was variously described by many of his associates, spiritual children, Pastors and ministers in the Christ Apostolic Church as a father, mentor, uncommon leader, very gentle, amiable, a role model and a man after God’s heart.
In a tribute sent in by Pastor Gideon Oladokun the Superintendent of Itire DCC, he described Pastor Akinosun as an eptome of humility, a visionary leader, a couragrous and fearless leader, and a complete gentleman, as many others used his platform to pray for him and wish him more fruitful years on earth.
One of such messages dropped by Pastor Daniel Adesogbon from US described Pastor Akinosun as “a simple and an uncompromised leader. Humble but you cannot influence him against the word of God and you dare not take advantage of such a leader like him.”
In his own tribute Pastor Joseph Olu Akinyomi the Superintendent of CAC Somolu Olaleye DCC wishing the outgoing CAC President a “Happy and blissful birthday” described him also as “amiable, intelligent, indefatigable, impactful, influential and inspirational President of CAC Worldwide, as he prayed for long life in good health in the days of his life as a special gift of God to this generation.
Also in his good will message Professor Femi Adedeji, also a Pastor in CAC, a lecturer in the Department of Music of Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife saw Pastor Akinosun as a man of God who has distingushed himself among many of his colleagues, as a Pastor, Bible Scholar, Teacher, Counsellor and CAC minister. In his personal testimony about the celebrant he described Baba Akinosun in glowing words.
“Baba is humble to the core, he is uncommonly approachable, extraordinary dutiful, committed and morally upright,” adding that “He is always willing to help, where other could not.”
He prayed for him “to finish well in the Lord, as he prophesied a great revival to mark the 75th birthday of the quintessential leader and versatile Church administrator.
Even as the incumbent CAC President may be bowing out at the end of the year 2020 having reached the mandatory and staturory 75 years of retirement age, many were looking unto him to finish up the good work he has started in bringing the two major factions of the church under the same umbrella.
Pastor Akinosun has well been used by God to facilitate several efforts to bring the leaders of the factions together.
A concerned minister wrote. As you celebrate your 75 years birthday which is an evidence that you are going on retirement as President of CAC (Forum Initiative), what are you doing on the peace and unity of CAC at large?” He added that “people are waiting for you sir, and don’t allow anybody to stop you from uniting the mission before you retire. Even though you are not the originator but God can still use you to stop it sir.”
Pastor Akinosun was born on February 27, 1945. He had his primary school education between 1955 and 1960. He had worked variously in private establishments before yielding to divine call in 1972. He went for theological education within and outside Nigeria. He has served in various capacities as a teacher, and pastor in different parts of Nigeria. He was chosen as the General Superintendent of the CAC before becoming the President.
