Next year 2025, the Cherubim and Seraphim Worldwide will celebrate its 100 years, and ahead of the centenary celebration, the leadership of The New Seraph Evangelical Ministry, a group within the C&S Church has been working hard to set agenda for C&S in the coming generation.
This would be was laid bare as the Ministry prepares for the 2024 edition of its Annual General Conference. The Annual General Conference comes up on May 17 and 18,, 2024 at The New Seraph Grounds, Sapade, Ogun State.
Speaking about the conference in a special meeting with a section of the media, the Chief Convener, the host and the Spiritual leader of The New Seraph, the Iya Aladura General, Dr. Mrs. Oluwaseye Yomi-Sholoye told the media on what to expect at the conference which would be to the benefit of Cherubim and Seraphim at large.
The New Seraph Ministry, known for its practical and realistic spiritual approach set the theme of the conference as Approaching C&S Centenary, Shaping The Future. It is therefore expected that the conference would set the tone of what to expect from the conference and C&S at large in the future.
Said the Iya Aladura, “You will agree with me that definitely, nobody would like to be on a spot, or being stagnant forever; not even our dear Cherubim & Seraphim. Hence, we at The New Seraph will be using this year’s Annual General Conference to address certain salient issues under fruitful deliberations by renowned Speakers and Panelists from several Conferences of the Church on what they think can be done better post centenary.”
Without mincing words, Dr. Mrs. Yomi-Sholoye was emphatic on what they wanted to achieve from the conference. “It is very simple. A paradigm shift. For us to move forward as a Church, it is our collective responsibility and we all have to ensure that there is a positive shift in all we do. If you ask me, I will say that the C&S Church of today is growing and what should be topmost in our hearts is how to make it grow the more to God’s Glory.”
Also speaking on what to expect at the conference, Dr. Yomi-Sholoye disclosed, “Our Annual General Conference as usual will be attended by members of The New Seraph across the Nation and in Diaspora, with an opening ceremony happening on Thursday, 16th May, 2024.
“Dignitaries from all works of life, representatives from Government parastatals and Royal Fathers with their Oloris will be present at the Opening Ceremony. Our Main Guest Speaker is Pastor Thomas Adekunle Fakile JP with several Panelists like Pastor Tosin Faremi, Snr Leader Jesubi Temitope, Moth. Bola Odeyinde, Reverend Ola Joseph Okikimile, Evang. Tunde Jedidah, and Ap. Seyi Odufuwa. Chief Panelists for the Conference are Supt Ap. Eng’r. Niyi Afolabi and Supt. Ap. Olatunde Ogunkunle.
“The venue for the Conference is The New Seraph Grand Hall, located at The New Seraph Prayer City, located at Km 60, Lagos/Ibadan Express Way, New Seraph Bus Stop, Ode Remo, By Sapade Overhead Bridge, Ogun State.”
The Conference according to the convener is a 2-Day affair and she assured that “a lot of plans have been put together towards ensuring a secure and conducive environment for all delegates coming from Pan Nigeria.”
Following are the Conference Schedule; Morning: Conference session, Opening Ceremony & NODE 6.0 Flag-Off; Afternoon: Conference session 2 Lecture by Pastor Thomas Adekunle Fakile JP, and Conference session 3 with Variety Night in the evening, on day one, Thursday, 16th May, 2024.
Another variety of events follow on day 2, Friday, 17th May, 2024, with Panel discussions in the morning as Conference session 4. It will be followed in the afternoon with Conference session 5 National Stakeholders Meeting With the Iya Aladura General.
Asked about the State of the Nation, the Woman of God called on Nigerians to be patient and to continue to pray for the country.
She admonished, “Nigerians need to pray for the leaders and the need to have the sense of direction because we cannot do without God.”
She also called on Nigerians to manage themselves aright by cutting their clothes according to their sizes.
“It is a time to show love to another. It is a time to think outside the box on what can be done better, and how they can move themselves forward in whatever they do. As we do all these together we will get to our promise land.”
Rounding off, the Iya Aladura General called on C&S Church to come together in unity to consolidate the gains of the seeds the founding fathers of the Church sowed in about 100 years ago.
She noted, “As a Church, we are coming from a journey of 100 years where our fathers have worked hard to lay a solid foundation for the Church, the fruits are what we are seeing today. We are still preaching evangelism, we are more guided by the word of God. Our members have seen the need to participate in government at all levels. We have not remained the same.
“We can still say we have a bright future, and that will be our focus at the conference. There is still the need for growth, expansion and development. We are looking into a future that will expand the works of our founding fathers. We need to set the agenda for the next century of C&S Church. As we prepare for the centenary, we will do everything with other bodies in C&S to make the world know that the C&S is 100 years.
“My appeal to all members of Cherubim and Seraphs is to sheathe their swords and come back as a united body. No one is greater than the other. We need one another. The centenary should be a new beginning for us. Let us move on and let us live on the qualities that are expected of us. Let us move and be part of the government and be interested in the growth and development of the youth. We must set the standard for our youth to follow as leaders of tomorrow, and that is when we can say we have a guaranteed future for the church.”
The conference convener also assured the participants who are expected to come from members and non-members of The New Seraph of secured environment and provision of good accommodation for them, as lodging and accommodation are also available at affordable rates for those who would like to make private arrangements for themselves.
