The annual Convention of The Redeemed Christian Church of God for the year 2020 holds between Monday 3rd and Sunday 9th August, 2020. The convention has also fallen a victim of the global lockdown occasioned by coronavirus pandemic as participants would not be able to come together as in the past conventions.
The Church authority has therefore arranged for what they call Virtual Convention whereby the programmes of the convention will be beamed to participants live through different media devices like the Church’s television Dove Media, and the Social Media devices like YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. Members and interested participants are invited to watch and monitor the programmes live.
According to the Church authority, the convention which is the 68th in the series would be the Largest Virtual Gathering of believers all over the world. The theme is WONDERFUL.
In an answer to the question about where will the convention be holding, it was said the convention would be holding online and at various viewing centres at Regional, Provincial, Zonal and Area headquarters, and there would be no physical gathering at the Redemption Camp.
Participants’ attention was also drawn to all safety measures guiding the Covid -19 experience. Pastor Adeboye on his Twitter handle called participants to remember to wear their face mask, maintain social distancing, wash their hands and obey other safety guidelines.
In another Twit, Daddy G.O. promised, “Whatever is wonderful is excellent, anything God does is wonderful because He is an excellent God. The virtual experience of the Convention is going to be nothing short of excellent.” It begins 12 noon each day.
There will be no special events like graduation of Bible College Students and disciples, and ordination of new ministers of God.
