Members of the Gospel Musicians Association of Nigeria, Lagos Chapter have thrown their weight behind the re election bid of the State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu for a second term in office.

The Governorship election holds on Saturday March 18, 2023 in Lagos and other States of the federation that would be electing fresh governors for a new term and returning others for second term.

GOMAN, in a statement signed by its Governor, Hon. Psalmist Isreal Eyinju, as made available to the media called on Lagosians to troop out in their number to massively vote for the Governor who has proved himself to be a performer in adding values to governance in the state.

According to the GOMAN governor, “that was the resolution of a special meeting of Leaders of Gospel Musicians Association of Nigerian, Lagos chapter held on 12th of March, 2023, at 525, Majok Plaza, Ladipo, Oshodi, Lagos State.”

At the meeting which had in attendance a former Governor of the association, Apostle Raphael Babalola, the Deputy Governor, Evang Dr. Odun Akins, State Secretary, Majesty Olubunmi Ogunremi, and the Vice Chairman of Chairmen Evang Olumide Ajayi, and other members of the executives, it was unanimously agreed that we should not only endorse the performing governor but also tell the entire Lagosians to follow suit.

At the meeting we took time to review the last election and we decided to join other leaders to present a common front as gospel musicians and ministers for the March 18 gubernatorial election in the State.

“So we are using the media to call on all well meaning Lagosians to vote for the governor for a second term.

“We recall that GOMAN then joined other Christians in asking for a Christian Governor in the State. We are convinced that the coming of Sanwoolu was a prayer answered and God has not disappointed in choosing him. He has done very well in the last four years.”

Explaining further, the leader of gospel musicians in Lagos State added, “This Gubernatorial election is not about any political party but about the candidate. Mr. Sanwo-Olu has made Christians very proud and he has governed the State without any religious bias. He is a lover of all, young and old. He is one of us and the Gospel Ministers in Lagos State are speaking with one voice that Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu deserves our support again.”

The gospel music minister also called on “all great  leaders of GOMAN and the Church across different religious divides – Pentecostals, Orthodox, OAIC, religious and Christian organizations, even Muslims, to support the gubernatorial candidacy of Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.

Adding their own voices, Apostle Raphael Babalola commended the governor for ensuring peace in the state. “Lagos under Sanwo-Olu has been very peaceful and that explains why there have been influx of people across the country to earn their living in the State,” as Majesty Olubunmi Ogunremi, the Secretary, urged all GOMAN members to be united in voting Sanwo-Olu on March 18, 2023.”
