The body of the late Senior Pastor of The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua has finally been laid to rest. The burial took place on Friday 9th July, 2021 within the expansive premises of the Church in Ikotun area of Lagos State, Nigeria.
The burial was part of the high point of a week long programme organised for the burial of the late cleric.
It was attended by dignitaries from home and abroad, with the Governor of Ondo, the home State of the late prophet, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu as Special Guest. Also in attendance was the Governor of Lagos State represented by Commissioner for Home Affairs, Prince Olanrewaju Elegushi, the wife of Ooni of Ife, Olori Naomi Ogunwusi, Representatives of the traditional ruler of Arigidi Kingdom, Prophet Joshua’s home town, Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria in Lagos State Bishop Steven Adegbite, representatives of the President of CAN Dr. Olasupo Ayokunle, as well as ministers of God from different parts of the world who were Prophet Joshua’s close associates.
Governor Akeredolu in his condolence message noted that Ondo State, Nigeria, and even the entire world had lost a rare gem with the death of Prophet T.B. Joshua, saying Prophet T. B. Joshua was a special breed of a person, a worthy and true son of Ondo State.
The Ondo State Governor who acknowledged the humble beginning of Prophet TB Joshua expressed the satisfaction that the late Synagogue leader had left indelible prints on the sand of time.
“His impacts are visible, not only in Ondo State but in parts of Nigeria and throughout the entire world,” noting that Prophet Joshua in his burial has been able to assemble world stars, a replica of the burial of Nelson Mandela, the former South African President.
“He contributed to the lifting of the downtrodden, the less privileged, widows, orphans and special people who he touched economically and spiritually.”
Governor Akeredolu called on the wife, Evelyn, the children and the members of SCOAN family to continue with the good legacies left behind by the spiritual icon, noting that he lived a fulfilled life.
The remains of the Man in The Synagogue was later interred in a special masouleum within the Church premises, and many of the participants were wailing and crying publicly as the body of the humanitarian and philathropic man of God was laid to rest.
Among other dignitaries at the funeral ceremony were Otunba Dele Momodu of Ovation Media, Teemac Omatsola, the flutist, the Airforce Band, Nancy Amasio from the Dominican Republic and other leaders from all parts of the world. The burial programmwoube rounded off with a special thanksgiving service on Sunday July 11, 2021.
