Messages of condolence and sympathy have been pouring in over the transition of the famous aged prophets in the ancient city of Ibadan.
Taking the lead is the governor of the state, Mr. Seyi Makinde and his wife, Engineer (Mrs) Tamunominini Makinde.
The governor sent his sympathies to the leadership of CAC Worldwide, the Oyo State branch of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), and Baba Olowere’s immediate family in a telegram signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sulaimon Olanrewaju.
Baba Olowere, according to Makinde, is a deserving father of faith and one of God’s Generals who has sacrificed greatly to secure the on-going prosperity of Oyo State through prayers and other means.
He added that Baba would be highly missed by his followers, admirers and the Christian faithful in the state.
The governor said: “I received the news of the death of Prophet Michael Ojo Olowere, with shock.
“Baba lived his life serving God and humanity. He was a God’s General who sought the good of Oyo State and Nigeria and contributed his quota to making it happen.
“We have lost a worthy father of faith in Oyo State.
“I condole with the CAC Worldwide, the Oyo State CAN, the members of CAC Oke-Agbara, Asi Bodija and the entire people of the state. I pray that God will grant him eternal rest and give all of us the fortitude to bear this loss.”
The death of Prophet Michael Ojo Olowere, also known as Baba Olowere, the founder of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Oke-Agbara, Asi Bodija, and the entire Oyo State, according to Oyo State Governor ‘Seyi Makinde, is a great loss to Christendom.
May his soul rest in peace,” the statement further stated.
In the same vein, the wife of the governor Engineer Tamunominini Makinde has also expressed her condolences to the family of Prophet Michael Ojo Olowere who has just passed o.
This is contained in a statement on Wednesday in Ibadan by the media team to the first lady, to condole with the family of the deceased who is popularly known as “Baba Automatic”.
Mrs Makinde described the death of Prophet Olowere as painful and shocking.
She also condoled with the entire body of Christ in general and the family of Christ Apostolic Church.
Mrs Makinde further described the deceased as one of the great anointed men of God in this generation who dedicated himself to the service of God and humanity.
Similarly the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the last election in Nigeria, Mr. Peter Obi has also condoled with the family of Prophet Michael Ojo Olowere.
Peter Obi on his Twitter handle @PeterObi noted the contributions of the late cleric to missionary and societal growth.
He wrote, “I have just received the news of the death of Prophet Michael Olowere, a renowned evangelist and founder of Christ Apostolic Church, Oke-Agbara. He was a respected minister of the gospel at Christ Apostolic Church. He contributed greatly to missionary and societal growth.
“His many decades of evangelism were very impactful in Oyo State and beyond. I commiserate with his immediate family and Christ Apostolic Church over his demise. May God grant him eternal rest and comfort all who mourn him.”
Several other Nigerians and mourners have been pouring encomiums through the Social Media on the memories of the late cleric.
A statement by the General Evangelist of CAC Nigeria and Overseas, Prophet/Evang. Hezekiah Oluboye Oladeji revealed how a prophecy (which has gone viral) came out through him last week at the annual Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola Miracle Explosion in Erio Ekiti that a very notable father of faith would depart this world soon without knowing it would be Prophet Olowere as he prayed for the repose of the spiritual icon’s soul.
“On Friday, during my ministration at the Erio Grand Finale for the Prophetic Hour, the Lord showed me a mysterious vision. I saw a fresh leaf falling down, and God gave me the interpretation that a great Prophet of God is going home soon to meet with other heroes of faith.
“God speaks mysteriously, as He did not reveal the particular person to me neither the location. God must have known that I would have prayed with my last breath to avert it. But at the end of it all, His will was done. Rest on my Great Prophet Michael Ojo Olowere.
Others who have sent words through the Social Media include the blind Prophet and the General Overseer of Hour of Mercy Ministry, Prophet Moses Muhideen Kasali and Prophet Sam Olu Alo.
They wrote, “In loving memory, and complete submission to God, we announce the passing on of our beloved father, Prophet Michael Ojo Olowere. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. My sincere condolences to the entire body of Christ Apostolic Church, Oyo State and Nigeria, the entire Olowere family and Christians world-wide.
Other notable Nigerians, Pastors and Associates, and celebrities that have been making remarks on the departure of the spiritual giant are Bishop Kayode Williams, Muyiwa Alore Igbala, Prophetess Modupeola Ilupeju, Pius Paul Godson, Gospel Music Minister Dunsin Oyekan, Wolii Arole, as well as many spiritual children and grandchildren of the deceased across the world.
