It was a celebration galore on Sunday 15th December 2019 on the occasion of a decade anniversary of Powerline Baptist Church, Agodo, Egbe in Lagos as the host ministers Rev and Pastor (Mrs) Segun Owolabi were joined by family, fellow ministers, church members as well as friends and well wishers to appreciate God for the historic celebration.
After the initial service commencement activities, the major celebration started with the dedication of the new and ultra modern altar of the Church, built at the centre of the church auditorium, presided over by Rev O. K. Babarinde, the President , Lagos Central Baptist Conference, and assisted by ministers of God available.
Among other ministers present were Rev. Dr. Jerry Akinsola from Ibadan, Rev. Dr. A. G. Fakorede, Moderator Victoryland Baptist Association, Rev. S. G. Adeyemi, the Consultant Victoryland Baptist Association, and Rev. Dr. John Adika of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Ibadan.
Others included Rev S. I. Olaotan, Pastor Segun Fakemi the Master of Ceremony, Pastor Tolu Adeoye, Mrs A. O. Owolabi and Mrs Deborah Ayomide, and Pastors Phil and Lola Adika and their Praise N Joy Musical team.
In his personal testimony, the host minister Rev. Segun Owolabi expressed his thanks to God for the successful journey of the church in its first ten years .
According to him “God demostrated His faithfulness in my life in this ten years of my new assignment, as he traced the growth and development of the Church from inception to what God has made it to become at 10 years.”
Powerline Baptist Church was inaugurated on December 12, 2009 and had passed through the thick and the thin with growth in spiritual and physical dimensions.
Members and well wishers were also at the service to give testimonies of what God has done for them in the 10 years record of the Church. To Mrs A. O. Owolabi, the construction of the new Church building was a miracle in that while the former Church building took them six years to build it only took them only six months to put up the new Church construction, and all prayes and requests made to God were all answered.
“As the head of the building committee I am testifying that God answered our prayers each time we united and presented our needs and requests to God. God answers our prayers.
There were also other tesimonies of divine intervention, breakthroughs and deliverence by the members of the Church. There were also cheering testimonies by the family of Engnieer and Mrs Femi Owolabi of FEMBOSCO fame. Engineer Owolabi who turned 60 in December 2019 testified of the presence of God in his life.
“When I newly got married they said that my wife would not give birth, but to the glory of God exactly 12 months of our marriage my wife gave birth to her first child and now we have five children and they are all doing well to the glory of God. God has also saved us from motor accidents, God has made us to escape from soakaway fall, as God has positioned us from salary work to own a business of our own, all to the glory of God. It has been testimonies of from negative to the postive,” testified Engnieer Owolabi family.
In his own message of the day, Rev. Dr. O.K. Babarinde congratulated the ministers in charge and the hosts Rev and Pastor Mrs Segun Owolabi on their steadfastness, obedience and strong commitment to the works of the Lord which had seen the Church to its present status.
Speaking on The Power That Works In Us, the guest speaker assured the hosts and the members of the Church of the presence of God in the Church noting that there are several areas the power of God could be manifested, power of resurection, power of answered prayers, the power that brings joy to the believers, the power that breaks chains and power of divine connection. Rev Babarinde assured that no one should come and leave the service without receiving power of God for manifestations after the celebration.
The host minister also showed his appreciation to members of the Church especially those who had been with them since the inauguration of the Church by making special presentation of gifts to them. The family of Engineer Owolabi also made another presentation of gifts to some consistent and outstanding Church members to further encourage them in the Lord’s service.
Prayers for continued strength and exploits were offered for the minister in charge, his family, workers and the church at large.
The celebration was rounded off with a special thansgiving session with praise and worship led by Pastors Phil-Lola Adika and their Praise N Joy Music Ministry.
