The annual Pastors’ Conference of Christ Apostolic Church under the dynamic leadership of Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele has come and gone, but with all indications the record breaking memory would for ever continue to linger.
Like it is said of a new broom that sweeps clean, the new leadership showed a touch of class, finesse and remarkable difference in organising and handling different aspects of the conference which was described as first of its type.
The conference held by one of the dominant factions of Christ Apostolic Church under the General Executive Council was held at Ikeji Arakeji, the spiritual headquarters of the Church between Tuesday September 21 and Friday September 24, 2021.
The conference had The Christ Centred Church as its theme, and it was historic and would remain evergreen in all areas.
The conference was attended by ordained ministers of Christ Apostolic Church from different parts of the world, and in contents, delivery physically and spiritually it was clear that it met various expectations of the participants. From topics featuring ministerial life, health, security and hordes of several impactful teachings with interactive online sessions, that package was all inclusive.
Speaking in his welcome address the well informed and highly articulate cleric touched on various aspects of life concerning the ministers spiritually and that of the general public.
Pastor Oladele used the platform to reiterate the vision of his current administration which he stated as Human Development, Spiritual and Physical Growth, and Development, Reconciliation of the feuding factions of CAC, and Evangelism and Church growth.
On the state of the nation, the highly respected cleric had his words for Nigeria’s President Buhari and all that handle the affairs of the country.
According to him, the time of keeping silent in the face of oppression was over and all Nigerians must be alive to their responsibilities by ensuring that good governance prevailed in all facets of the public life.
“Silence is no more golden. We will not only pray but encourage our members to be interested in those who rule them. Government must lead by showing examples of good leadership,” he said as he called for open condemnation and punishments for terrorists and bandits who are decimating our resources.
“Righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach. President Muhammadu Buhari should prove that he is not complicit in this issue that involves his kinsmen. He must deal with criminality, as he will one day give account of his stewardship, knowing he will not tread this path again.”
Also speaking on the themeThe Christ centred Church, Pastor Oladele defined a Christ Centred Church as the one whose character resembles that of Christ.
According to him, a Christ Centred Church shows the preeminence of God, remains teachable, points men to Jesus Christ and stays connected with Christ, warning ministers of God not to behave as if they were the ones that owned the Church.
“We do not own the Church, Jesus did; We do not die for the Church, Jesus did. May He find us watching when he comes,” he prayed.
On the reconciliation move of the different factions of the Church, the President of the General Council faction which is the major group of the Church, asked for more prayers, and called on all concerned members to prepare for permanent solution.
He disclosed, “We have made tremendous progress, and with your prayers and sincerity of hearts it shall become a thing of the past.”
In his message at the closing of the conference the CAC President also called for leaders that work under God, saying “The Church needs leadership that is spiritual, sacrificial and authoritative. Without these attributes, the people will fall into sin.”
