It was showers of blessings by fathers of the faith within and outside Christ Apostolic Church recently when Pastor Emmanuel Olatoro Odejobi was inducted as the 12th General Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas. The formal induction took place at the special Inauguration and Duty Commencement Service held in his honour at the Mission’s General Secretariat in Ibadan on Saturday 10th April, 2021.
Present at the historic events were some of the past principal officers of the Church among which were the immediate past president, Pastor Abraham Olukunle Akinosun, a past General Superintendent of the Church, Pastor D.O. Oloye, a former General Evangelist, Prophet S.K. Abiara, and a veteran itinerant Evangelist ‘Segun Ilesanmi was there from Lagos State.
Others were some retired senior ministers of the Church among which were Pastor M.A. Adeoye, Pastor Professor Imevbore and Pastor Akinsulire who were there to lead in several sessions of prayers.
While Prophet Abiara prayed for the strength by the new General Superintendent to move the Church forward during his tenure, he also commended Pastor Odejobi for his humility and patience noting that his patience has helped him to gain the exalted position of the General Superintendent of the Church.
For Pastor Adeoye his prayers for the General Superintendent for the grace to fulfill all his plans for the Church as he asked God for the wisdom, knowledge and understanding to do exploits in the position of his new responsibilities.
Evangelist Segun Ilesanmi in his characteristic fearless and direct counsel prayed for the strength of God for Pastor Odejobi to have victory over his enemies, noting that he has a lot of work to do to continue the assault of the founding fathers of the Church over witches, wizards and familiar spirits. He also charged him to make the best use of the word of God which he described as the foundation of all successes.
The inauguration was witnessed by many distinguished Pastors within and outside CAC, among which were Apostle Ibosiola who represented Apostle E.O. Oyedele of the Christ Gospel Apostolic Church, Pastor M.O. Yusuff, the immediate past Superintendent of Akinyele Region of the Church, Pastor J.o. Oyebamiji, Pastor J.O. Owoeye, Prophet Moses Orogojimo, Prophet Funso Akande, and Pastor Professor Femi Adedeji.
The traditional ruler of Ipetumodu, Oba (Professor) Olugbenga Oloyede the Apetu of Ipetumodu, the birthplace of Pastor Odejobi was ably represented by Chief Subuloye Oyewole.
Top on the programme of the day was the formal inauguration of the General Superintendent featuring Presentation of Citation by Pastor Aanu Ojo, Administration of Oath of Office by Barrister Bidemi Oyesanya who is also an Elder in Church, Declaration and proclamation. There were also sessions of superlative music ministration by the Mass Choir of the Church led by Pastor Tope Dada.
The message of the day was presented by Pastor S.O Aluko, the Sunday School Superintendent of the Church who spoke on My Role in This Team. He charged all members in any God raised team to do their bests to justify the confidence and responsibility God has put in them.
In his own vote of thanks, the man of the day, Pastor Emmanuel Odejobi who was visibly exited by the turnout expressed his thanks to all that made event a success, from the fathers in the faith, to the principal officers of the Church, participants from within and outside CAC, and guests from far and near promising to work with the leadership team of the Church now led by Pastor Samuel Oladele, the President, himself as the General Superintendent, Prophet Hezekiah Oladeji, the General Evangelist, Pastor Emmanuel Mapur, the General Secretary, Pastor Johnson Omitinde, the Finance Director and the Director of Missions, Pastor Caxton Fasuyi who were all there with their spouses.
Among other distinguished guests were Barrister Ime Umossoh, the Legal Adviser of the German Embassy in Nigeria, Engineer and Deaconess Abimbola, Dr. Sobukola, Deaconess Adebule, the Leader of the Good Women of the Church, and Barrister Wale Aderibigbe, the Registrar of Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji Arakeji.
