President Buhari, Gov. Sanwoolu, Others Pay Tributes

 

It has been torrent of tributes as the death was announced of Mrs. Ibidunni Ighodalo, wife of the Senior Pastor of Trinity House, Pastor Itua Ighodalo became a public knowledge on Sunday. According to reports she died in her hotel of room in the early hours of Sunday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Leading the train of mourners is the Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari. President Muhammadu Buhari in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, expressed surprise at the death of the deceased saying he shared the pain and sorrow of the family at the sudden death.

The President prayed God’s comfort for the entire family, friends and members of Trinity House.

He said that Pastor Ighodalo is one person who “faithfully prays for the country, and the government” and sent him a personal letter of condolence when his former Chief of Staff, Malam Abba Kyari, passed away in April.

The statement read, “Please accept my condolence. May God give you the fortitude to bear the loss, and strengthen you at this trying time.”

Lagos State governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu also has joined the list of top officials to condole with the Ighodalo family over what had befallen them.

Sanwo-Olu said he was shocked when he learnt of the news that Pastor Ituah’s wife Ibidun Ighodalo has passed.

The Governor on his Twitter handle’s comment about the death of Mrs Ibidun Ighodalo read:

“I was shocked when I received the news that my friend, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo had lost his wife and partner, Mrs Ibidun Ighodalo. Mrs Ibidun Ighodalo was an inspiration to many. I pray for strength for Pastor Ituah, their children, loved ones and the many she has touched.”

Nigeria’s former vice president Atiku Abubakar also expressed sadness over the death of Mrs Ibidun Ighodalo, stating how much impact her foundation (The Ibidunni Ighodalo Foundation) made to the society.

Former vice president Atiku Abubakar’s statement on the death of Mr Ibidun Ighodalo read:

“The life of Pastor (Mrs) Ibidun Ituah-Ighodalo, late wife of Head Pastor, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, may have been short, but it was impactful. Her Ibidunni Ighodalo Foundation (IIF), a non-profit organisation was a source of blessing to many women. My deepest condolences to the Ighodalo and Olaleye Ajayi families. May her soul rest in peace.”

Dr. Sam Adeyemi, the Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre also condoled with Pastor Ituah Ighodalo and prayed for “God’s comfort and strength.”

Others dignitaries that have condoled with the bereaved family include Mrs. Tope Alabi, Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Former Education Minister, Oby Ezekwesili, through their Twitter handles.

Her Life and Times

Mrs. Helen Ibidunni Ituah-ighodalo, was born on the 19th of July, 1980 in Oyo State, Ibadan to the family of late Olaleye Ajayi family.

Ibidunni, studied Microbiology at the University of Lagos, Akoka, before she further got training in Business Management from the Lagos Business School.

She is a Fellow of the National Institute Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN).

She got married to Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, in 2007.

May her soul rest in perfect peace.
