Following the results of the election to the offices of the national executive officers of the Gospel Musicians Association of Nigeria held in Ibadan on Wednesday 15th February, 2023, a new set of executives has been elected to pilot the affairs of the association for the next three years.
The new executive is led by Evangelist Phillip Olayiwola aka Pholat, the immediate past Governor of the association for Lagos State.
He was unanimously elected by the members drawn from all parts of the country. Delegates were recorded as far as Plateau, Bauchi, Kogi and Kwara States to join their counterparts from Lagos, Ogun, Osun, and Ekiti States.
The election also saw the emergence of Evang. Boladale Stephen Amzat as the General Secretary. She outpolled Evangelist Dare Moses Peter from Lagos State with 52 votes to 22.
Other officers unanimously elected were Hon Pastor Paul Bonny Ayodele as Deputy President, Pastor Kayode Emmanuel Ogunniyi, V.P. West, Pastor Samuel Oluwakayode, V.P. North.
Other officers elected were Evang. Olubukola Omodele Ilupeju, for the post of Assistant General Secretary, Treasurer – Prophetess Christianah Folashade Bello, Financial Secretary: Evang. Ruth Joy Oladejo Olalere, Lady Evang. Olawumi Faniyi (aka) Omo Ologo Ara, National Public Relations Officer, Prayer Coordinator: Pastor. Mrs. Stella Adeniyi Ajayi, Internal Auditor: Evang. Dolapo Ogunbajo, Chief Whip: Evang Opeyemi Toyin Bello Oladipupo, Enrolment Officer: Psalmist Samuel Olubayo, Welfare1: Evang. Gloria Oladiti Oyenike, Welfare 2: Evang. Oluwaseyi Oyebode Oyebanji, Protocol: Prince Oluwole Adekunle, and the popular music minister Mike Abdul of the Old Midnight Crew who was elected as the Music Director.
The new president in his acceptance speech promised to take the association to the next level of greatness.
He said, “We are not unaware of the great and numerous tasks that are ahead of us. The need to heal some wounds, create an atmosphere that is conducive enough for peace and tranquillity, the need to rebuild the fallen walls, the need to restructure, reposition and also rebrand our brand for both national and international acceptance, as well as the need to provide good welfare packages for all spectrums of GOMAN members, the young, the old, the up coming, the ‘star, the sun, the moon’ etc and the need to cater for our health for only the healthy can be available to serve the Lord. All these and many more shall be our focus in this regime.
“Our set goal is to lead GOMAN to the next level of greatness and I strongly believe that we have all it takes to achieve this.
Evang. Pholat also took the advantage to solicit for the supports of the members across board including the state governors and their executives, the elders, as well as his predecessors in the office of the president.
Present at the well attended Delegates’ Conference were the immediate past president of the association, Dr. Evang. Funmi Aragbaiye, https://ptlnewsonline.com/goman-holds-national-election/ some elders of the body like Pastor Ola Ojo, Dr. Kayode Afolabi, Pastor Ola Oyeniran, Pastors Oluawo and Mogaji, as well as the Olayiwola Twins of Kenny and Taiwo Jones.
The GOMAN Electoral Committee was led by Damola Omonijo as Chairman, and Apostle Raphael Babalola as Secretary. Other members were Prophet Akindele Akinrinade, Revd. Anthony Alabi, Rev. Olubiyo Emmanuel, Revd. Jolayemi Gabriel and Evang. Temitope Alabi.
Certificates of returns were presented to the members of the newly elected executives.
