“Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom,” once wrote Marcel Proust, a renowned French writer.
It’s the day after my birthday and with no doubt in my heart, I am most grateful.
The response globally was extremely humbling, with show of love in abundance in goodwill messages received across the world, from friends, old and young, from family members, old school colleagues.
How about the heart warming calls and prayers? Some went and did more by sending gifts. There were greetings from the high and the high as no one was low among the lots. I cherish your accolades, encomiums, that all I can say is Thank You.
I cannot be mentioning names but suffice to enlist many of the groups I belong. From my root, the Adegunna family, immediate and distant, the Ikeji Ile Community, to my Alumni Associations, Ikeji Ile High School, the Big House, and the 76/81 Set, University of Ife, International Relations Alumni Association, the General House and 83/87 Set, LASU MCS, Ministerial groups of CAN, Virgin Prayer Fellowship, Rev. Adegbolagun led Centre For Righteous Living, Chaplains Fellowship of Nigeria and other Chaplains bodies, Gospel Musicians Association of Nigeria, and as many other members of other groups and associations I belong.
Of course some individuals stand out – Pastor Sanya Olawole, my good bossom friend, and brother of most of our over six decades of existence from the cradle. One could see and feel his wild excitement. My celebration is his celebration. So also Evangelist Feyi Emily Esan of Iya gbogbo fame from her US base. They really celebrated that. Pastor Gbemiga Solomon FF, another influential minister in words and deeds, his motivation is without equal. I also thank Mama Ilupeju who will never get tired of marching us forward to where there is progress.
Thanks to Special Mother in Israel Ajitoni Akintolu for giving me the platform to thank God as I found myself in her Church anniversary doing what I love to do best. God bless her and members of her Church.
I will not forget my siblings too, from far and near, even Evangelist Ojo Ade found time from his busy Church Convention to call. Same goes for Niyi Adegunna, and my Big Sister Olusola Oyeleye. All I can say is to express my heart felt unreserved gratitude. May God reward you all for your love. I see this happened right in my eyes live. It’s really electrifying.
Back home, I cannot but appreciate my good people and fellow residents of Aboru Community, the landlords and tenants, members of CDA, friends and well-wishers. They keep me warm with the expression of their love and encouragement.
One lesson to learn from all these is to continue with the grace God has given me that has elicited this so much love, excitement, interest and attractions towards me.
I will still covet more of your prayers, counsel, love and supports for the works and deeds of the future. Every good and lasting success deserves more works, commitments and dedication. May God continue to give us the grace to do more for humanity.
Much as I know that your prayers will work for me, my simple prayer is that God will continue to strengthen us all and give us the enablement to do more.
Thank you one, thank you all. May we all live to celebrate many more years in the land of the living.
