The death has been announced of the Executive Chairman of Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA, Dr. Augustine Adeoye Arogundade.
Dr. Arogundade’s death has been confirmed by Mrs Omolola Essien, Chairman, Conference 57, Lagos State, who announced his demise on Tuesday in a statement.
She said, “The Lagos State Conference of Local Government and Local Council Development Area Chairmen, Conference 57 regret to announce the demise of one of their colleague, Mr Augustine Adeoye Arogundade, the Executive Chairman, Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA (Alimoso LG).
He died Tuesday afternoon after a brief illness.
Meanwhile, sympathisers have been trooping to his Aboru residence and the LCDA Secretariat to commiserate with the family and his associates.
The news of his sudden demise is coming few days after the death of the Secretary to the Local Government, Alhaja Tawakalitu Abiodun Ayilara.
Until His death, Hon Arogundade was a visionary leader who headed the local council with wisdom and open-heartedness.
He was a close associate of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola. Before he came into politics he was once a lecturer, and an Industrial Relations and Personnel Manager.
He was once a student union leader and an activist as a student in the University of Ibadan. He is survived by wife, children and grand children.
