Presidents of Alumni Assocaition, Past and present

Ikeji Ile High School formerly owned by Ikeji Ile Community in the present Oriade Local Government of Osun State celebrated its 47th Founders’ Day on Wednesday, 20th September, 2023.

The event which was celebrated online featured a lot of fun, reminiscences, historical landmarks, fond memories including students’ rascality and escapades, with members participating from different parts of the world.

The date which was earlier announced by Julius Adegunna was accepted by the president, Ojo Lasisi Bamidele and ratified by the executives.

The meeting which drew a wild excitement was held through the online media of Whatsapp, Zoom and Google Meet with members expressing their excitement to be part of the day.

In his introductory remark, the president, Ojo Lasisi Bamidele expressed his thanks to God for making the day a reality with the members coming alive to be part of the celebration.

He noted that surviving a journey of 47 years has not been an easy one, noting that many have died while there are others that have been swept away by the vicissitudes of this life.

He therefore called on the active members to seize the opportunity to appreciate God by coming around to help lift up the school that God has used to play an unforgettable role in their lives.

The immediate past president, Mr. Oludele Adeniji, from his Abeokuta base recalled the event that brought him to Ikeji Ile, a remote community, in the then old Oyo State, after his former school could not take off due to some clumsy circumstances.

Other members also followed suits to remember those good old days when the school under the dynamic and visionary founding principal Mr. Olu Atobatele, now of blessed memory was used to excellently exhibit leadership roles in the state in the area of academics, sports, agriculture as well as character and integrity.

Dr. Abiodun Badewa, the pioneer president of the Alumni Association, also calling from the United States of America joined his voice to thank God for the grace to be alive to celebrate the day. He charged the members to arise to the current needs of the school and to encourage the current students on how they can make meaningful impacts and come out in flying colours in their various exams to become better leaders tomorrow.

There was also complimentary and goodwill message from the current principal of the School, Mrs. Oluwaseun Tolulope who congratulated the old boys and girls for making history with the celebration. She also thanked them for their prompt supports to the needs of the School.

As part of the celebration was display of old pictures, calling of old names, remembering of old teachers, and other interactions between students and teachers, and among students, the old juniors and seniors.
