The death has occurred in Ibadan of Prince Benjamin Adekunle Olufadeju, the Chairman and Managing Director of A&T Hotels, off Ife Road, Alakia in the ancient city.

The deceased gave up his ghost in the early hours of the New Year day, after a brief illness.

The late business man until his death was a member of Ibadan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and an active member of Ikeji Ile High School Old Students Association.

Announcing his demise, the President of Ikeji Ile High School Old Students Association, Elder Idowu Adeniji wrote to the members, “This is to inform you all that we lost a member – Olufadeju Benjamin Adekunle aka Oscar Martins to the cold hands of death early January 1, 2022.

“Oscar was a great footballer during our days at Ikeji Ile High School and he was a financial and active member before his demise.”

Meanwhile, members, friends and close associates have been paying glowing tributes to the memory of the departed alumnus.

“This is a big loss to all of us. May his soul rest in peace” wrote Chief Daisi Daramola, the newly installed Ajiroba of Ipetu Ijesa, as Mr. Olalekan Onifade, the Secretary of the Association also wrote, “It is a pity you could not survive the sickness, my dear senior and brother. May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace.”

To Sam. Oloyede Oriowo, the President of Automobiles & Road Safety Initiative, and Publisher of NATA News, a close friend of the deceased remarked in his tribute, “Your friendship was a blessing to so many of us, and we will miss you so much. You brightened up our days whenever we met, you brought happiness to all you met with your kind and loving ways, from high school days to your golden years, you were one of the best friends we ever had. The angels have visited to take you home, and you will forever live within our hearts. Thank you for your friendship and all the memories we hold dear. It’s been a privilege to have known you. Fare thee well Benji. Prince Benjamin Adekunle Olufadeju, do rest soundly in the bossom of your creator till we’ll meet to part no more.”

“Benja was a great loss indeed to his family friends and our beloved association. Words alone cannot express how sad I am personally. May the Lord grant him eternal rest,” wrote Dr. Biodun Badewa from his US base.

Also writing in from UK, Mrs. Eunice A. Raje (Nee Aiyetobi) in her tribute said, “Senior Benja, a man of the people. The loss of a person like you is something that can never be recovered. You have always been an important person on this our great house. With tears drops running down my face, I bid you farewell and may your soul rest in perfect peace.”

“Benji, What a loss!” wrote Julius Adegunna, the Publisher of PTL News.

He continued, “Since the time we came to know one another in our school days, he has always been a man of impact and influence. At the association level he has been hosting many of our Ibadan meetings to the extent of giving free drinks and accommodation to all that cared. We shall surely miss him.”

Benjamin according to Evangelist Feyi Esan would be remembered for his good deed, love and care.  

The burial programme will hold on Friday 21st January 2022 at his residence, Near A&T Hotel, Off Old Ife Road, Ibadan at 10.00am. May his soul rest in perfect peace.
