Amidst all the confusions and misunderstanding heralded by government conditions for church to reopen their facilities for service, the leaders of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Lagos State has called on members to go and be preparing for the reopening of their various churches, and put all the necessary protocols in place ahead of the reopening on June 21, 2020.
In a statement signed by CAN Chairman Apostle Alex Bamgbola members were told to go and “prepare for the opening of our different churches on June 21, 2020, by putting the necessary protocols in place now.
The protocols according to them are “fumigation of the church and church premises, hand washing facilities and adequate supply of soaps and sanitizers, face masks, digital thermometers to check the temperature of members of our church attendees.
They also told the leaders to go and continue to educate their members and avoid malicious and controversial publications on the social media.
“Let us desist from dwelling on all manners of postings on social media on this matter. Many are misleading and creating confusion,” adding that “this is the time to begin to educate as many as we can reach of our congregation members, via the social media, on these essential protocols, their modes of transportation and how to position themselves in buses and taxis with their face masks.
They therefore called on members and stake holders “to continue to be patient, and pray ceaselessly, encouraging our followership, to do the same,” as they promise to be updating the members and leaders with all developments until the churches are eventually open.
They assured that “all critical issues of concern will be resolved by the special grace of God, as they would be meeting to present their final position to government after a very thorough review.
