The headquarters building of Pastor Chris Oyakhilomeh led Christ Embassy in the Oregun area of Lagos has been razed by fire. According to reports, the incident occurred on Sunday morning, of June 23, 2024.

About 7 o’ clock in the morning, thick black smoke was seen billowing from the white edifice when of the Church. But no life was lost in the incident.

The personnel of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service were on the scene to put out the fire while men of the Police were there to cordon the area to prevent a breakdown of law and order.

Vehicular and pedestrian movement on the street where the church is located were also halted for the moment.

There were no official statements as to the cause of the incident but some worshippers said an electrical spark might have been responsible for the fire.

Unconfirmed reports blamed the incident on a power surge from the electrical appliances. Church workers and other members of the church who were preparing for the Sunday service were said to have scampered for safety.

It was learnt that the fire started around 7am and was put off around 3:10pm preventing worshippers from holding service at the church auditorium.

Worshippers were taken to Asese, the Crusade Ground along Lagos/Ibadan expressway, Ogun State to hold service.

Meanwhile, the leader of the Church and the President of Love World International also known as Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, has urged members of the church not to worry over the incident.

In his reaction, he said, “We built that with what we know, imagine what we are going to do with what we know now. When things like this happen, do not be moved. When something like this happens, God gives us an opportunity to build a better one and a more beautiful one.

“We must look at life from the spiritual, this is not an accident. We are going to do something better.”
