If the information filtering out of the chamber of the foremost juju musician turned preacher, Evangelist (Professor) Ebenezer Obey Fabiyi can be reckoned with, we may hear of wedding bells from the founder of the Decross Gospel Mission.
The music icon who has just dispelled a purported death rumour recently has revealed via an interview with the media the possibility of him getting married soon.
When asked if he felt any loneliness, the highly respected musical icon responded in the affirmative that he naturally needed companionship.
Evangelist Ebenezer Obey who lost his wife in 2011 answered,
Well, the companionship of a wife is a good thing. It is not against God’s rule. So, I am here, I can marry at any time; not just for the sake of marriage as it is, but for the sake of companionship, because what else do I want? I have children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren. So I have been blessed. It is not like I am looking for a wife that would conceive babies. As long as I still have life, you will hear when the time for marriage comes.
He of course cleared the air on the kind of companionship he was seeking for, as his wife to be would not be less than 60 years. His beloved wife Evangelist (Mrs) Juliana Olaide Obey-Fabiyi died at 67 years, and the new wife would surely not be a young lady.
“It’s a foolish old man that will say he wants to marry a young lady. The young lady has just started her life and definitely she is virile and strong. Someone like me should be thinking of a woman who is 60 or above, and when I do it soon, everyone will know.
The subject of getting married again for a minister of God who lost his wife is a very crucial matter in the ministry, whether the minister is either actively young or passively old. Companionship is seen to be very important. First to wade off intruders, and to keep the minister of God warm, by cheering him up, taking care of him and being available when most needed.
Other Prominent Christian Widowers that Remarried
There are some prominent ministers of God who lost their wives and still remarry. Among these are Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, Anselm Madubuko, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, Prophet S.K, Abiara, Rev. E.J. Oludayitan, and Pastor W.F Kumuyi. There are also records of others who remain single till the end of their lives.
