For a week, the people and residents of the ancient town of Ilorin, the capital of Kwara were taken on a spiritual journey of divine visitation when Pastor Emmanuel Toluwase Akeredolu led Christ Apostolic Church Oke Isegun Taiwo Road Ilorin, Kwara State presented to them a week long open air crusade tagged Ilorin City Fire Crusade between Monday 16th and Friday 20th December 2019, at the spacious mainbowl of Ilorin Stadium Complex at the heart of the city.
The crusade began on Monday the 16th December with special worship and praise songs led by the victorious choir of the church. The host minister Pastor/Evangelist Emmanuel Toluwase Akeredolu recalled what led to the staging of the City Wide Fire Crusade wherever he served as a minister. He started the programme in Osogbo in 2015 after a very strong instruction by God again to hold a revival in the Osun State capital.
According to him God asked him to hold a citywide crusade in Osogbo and he then started Osogbo City Fire Crusade, and since then it has become a flagship of his evangelistic and soul winning programmes. In effect, the City Fire Crusade has been held in Lagos, where he had just been posted to Ilorin, the Fire Crusade has also been taken to Auchi and Ido Ani in Edo and Ondo States respectively.
Pastor Akeredolu also spoke of what led to the December 2019 Ilorin City Fire Crusade.
He explained, “After being transferred to Ilorin DCC by the authority of CAC, God told me to stage the same crusade in Ilorin tagged Ilorin City Fire Crusade. I told my Board of Elders and they told me since it was an instruction from God they had nothing to against it and so a date was set and the programme was held between 16th and 20th December 2019, at Ilorin city stadium.”
The programme by all indications turned out to be a huge success. The participants were massive, the ministers were all in attendance, so also the big and the mighty.
Among the list of participants were the Superintendent for Babajide Region Pastor M. A. Ogundeji, Prophet M. O. Adio of CAC Alabukun in Ilorin and the Kwara State Deputy Governor, His Excellency Mr. Kayode Alabi and a host of gospel singers like Apostle Elijah Akintunde and Pastor Oluwaseun Oluwatunmibi.
The theme for the revival was Power Over Storm. Speaking on the theme Pastor Akeredolu sait it was the plan of God to put an end to all storms in the believers and participants’ life in the coming years.
On his comments at the end of the revival the host minister was convinced that God manifested His presence from the beginning to the very end. He said “We were all convinced of the presence and manifestation of the power of God, He gave us good weather, participants came from far and near places, there was no hitch, the participants were visited with signs and wonders. There were miracles and a lot of testimonies followed during and after the revivals and we thank God for that.”
