All is set to celebrate the gospel music legend, Evangelist (Dr) Funmi Aragbaiye, who will be celebrating her 70th birthday anniversary and over four decades of her divine call to gospel music ministry.
According to the celebrant, when addressing journalists at her residence in Oluyole recently, the event, scheduled to take place on Sunday, July 28, will consist of the birthday celebration, the launch of the celebrant’s book, and her foundation for the less privileged members of the society.
The Nigeria’s former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo is to lead dignitaries to the 70th birthday ceremony of the renowned gospel musician, Evangelist (Dr.) Funmi Aragbaiye, a programme scheduled to hold in Ibadan, Oyo State Capital.
PTL News reports that the one-day activities of the birthday ceremony will hold on Sunday July 28, 2024 at Felicia Hall of Jogor Centre, Liberty Road in the ancient town by 1pm, and designed to attract guests across the globe.
The celebrant who is the former President of Gospel Musician Association of Nigeria, while speaking in an interview with the Media explained that the programme is aimed to appreciate God for over four decades of her divine call for gospel music industry.
“I am celebrating 70th birthday and my over four decades of divine call to gospel music ministry, and to celebrate God’s faithfulness. Former President His Excellency Chief Olusegun Okikiola Obasanjo is the father of day’, Aragbaiye said.
PTL News further reports that other programme of the events include unveiling of biography of the celebrant, as well as foundation launch for the less privileged in the society, while Pastor Enoch Adeboye General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) is the Spiritual Father of the Day.
The other notable dignitaries to grace the occasion are Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Osile Oke-Ona Egba, Oba (Dr) Adedapo Tejuoso as the Royal Fathers of the day, while Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde is the Chief host.
Other dignitaries expected are Senator Ademola Adeleke (Osun State Governor), Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo State Governor) and Dr. Olusegun Mimiko (former Governor of Ondo State). Mallam Isa Yuguda (former Governor of Bauchi State), Rt. Hon Edward Ogundoyin (Speaker Oyo State House of Assembly), Rt. Hon Abraham Adeleke (former Speaker Oyo State House of Assembly) as the special guests of honour.
The list of other special guests of honour also include Chief Akinlolu Olujimi (Former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Federation), Otunba Kunle Kalejaiye (Senior Advocate of Nigeria), Prof (Evang) Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, Dr. Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye (King Sunny Ade, Pastor Oladokun and Senator Lanre Tejuoso.
The mothers of the day are Chief (Mrs) Nike Akande (Iyalaje of Ibadanland), Ambassador Dosunmu Awolowo (Former Nigeria Ambassador to Netherlands) and Dr. (Mrs) Florence Ajimobi (former First Lady of Oyo State).
The other mothers of the day include Senator Abiodun Olujimi (Former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State), Rt. Hon Patricia Olubunmi Etteh (Former Speaker Federal House of Representatives, Reverend (Dr) Feyisetan Fayose (former First lady of Ekiti State, Chief (Mrs) Kemi Akala (former First Lady of Oyo State) and Justice Iyabo Yerima (Oyo State Chief Judge)
Some important dignitaries from the Church are also expected as Spiritual Fathers of the day. Among these are Most Rev. J.O Akinfenwa (Bishop of Ibadan Diocece), Rt. Rev Williams Aladekugbe (Bishop of Ibadan North Diocese), Pastor (Dr.) S.O. Oladele (President Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide) and Apostle Joshua Akinyemiju (Chairman Christian Association of Nigeria, Oyo State).
The others include Apostle Sunday Popoola(General Overseer Word Communication Ministries International), Pastor Femi Emmanuel (General Overseer Living Spring Chapel International, Ibadan), Bishop Francis Wale Oke (President Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria), Bishop Taiwo Adelakun (General Overseer Victory International Church), Rev. (Dr.) P.F Owa (General Overseer Christ Revival Miracle Church), Prophet(Dr.) Taiwo Ojo (General Overseer Covenant of Mercy Church, Majemu Aanu, Ibadan) and Prophet (Dr) Adebayo Aluko (General Overseer Christ Apostolic Church, Ile-Anu ,Ibadan)
Expected as Legendary artistes of the one- day event are Pastor J.A. Adelakun (Ayewa), Mama D.A Fasoyin, Evang (Dr) Bola Are, Evang. Ojo Ade, Pastor Akin Adebayo (Imole Ayo), Pastor Paul Tao and Pastor Kunle Ajayi.
The artistes equally to perform include Evang Bisi Alawiye, Evang Bukola Akinade (Senwele Jesu), Evang Taiwo Omotunde, Evang Esther Igbekele, Evang Bose Adeiwa, Evang Elijah Akintunde, Evang Kenny Ologoara, Evang Abosede Adeleke, Evang Labaster Praise, Evang. Yinka Alaseyori, Evang Big Bolaji and the national body of Evang. Phillip Olayiwola led Gospel Musicians Association of Nigeria.
