As Vicinity 95.3FM, Ikeji Ile takes off on full transmission on Monday June 10, 2024, the Visioner, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Prince Dr. Phillip Abiodun Badewa has unveiled the vision of the brand new radio station.
In a release made available to PTL News, the medical practitioner turned media entrepreneur announced to some select friends and admirers of the vision and mission for the establishment of the media outfit.
According to him, Vicinity FM is his modest contribution, “To open up my community (Ikeji Ile and environs) and promote businesses and grassroot journalism.”
He added, “This is to formally inform you, my dear family members and friends that I, Dr. Abiodun Badewa have made an entrepreneurial adventure into communication business.”
He took the advantage to call on his colleagues and by extension the general public on how to access the new radio outfit and some of the things to expect from the radio station.
He added, there would be “Podcasting to be focused on healthcare and current affairs,” and “you can listen anywhere in the world on FB, Instagrams, YouTube and Radiogarden apps. You can also download app on Google Drive and IOS,” which can make it easy to listen in your cars, homes and wherever you are.”
By the time it fully takes off, listeners can continue to enjoy rich content from the young, enterprising and highly talented team of broadcasters led by a veteran of the Daar Communication outfit, owners of Ray Power and Africa Independence Television (AIT) in person of Mr. Winston Akpabio.
According to the General Manager, daily programmes commence from 6.00am and close at 10.00pm .
Exciting programmes to look out for include, early morning programmes like Current News, From the Newspapers, Sports, Commercials, Interactive Chit Chats, Life Experiences, with specific programmes on education, politics, business and economy, health, agriculture and community developments, children and family, as well as grassroots events and promotions.
There will also be religious programmes to the practitioners of the different religious groups we have in the country.
Meanwhile, efforts are being made to conclude the power issues to that the station can be run on 24 hour transmission.
There have been torrent of congratulatory and good will messages to the latest media merchant from friends and well-wishers across the world, as they all express the hope that within the shortest time, Vicinity FM would live to the mantra of the station, to lead while others follow.
