Come Friday 24th December, 2021, Ipetu Ijesa will play host to both the sons and daughters as well as distinguished guest from all walks of life as Chief Sunday Daisi Daramola and his beloved wife, Christy will be conferred with the titles of Ajiroba and Iyalode of the town.
The conferment will be performed by the Ajalaiye of Ipetu Ijesa, The Imperial Majesty Oba Dr. Samson Adeleke Agunbiade Oke III at his palace at 10.00am prompt.
Daramola Sunday Daisi, one who can be aptly described as rising from grass to grace, was born in the late 60s to Joseph and Eunice Daramola, the duo of which are trailblazers in descent. His late father, Chief Joseph Daramola was the first matron of CAC Oke Isegun, Aiyeyemi Street Ipetu-Ijesha, while his maternal grandfather, late Emmanuel Oni was the Orisapetu Oni Sembaje and the first Balogun of Saint Paul’s Anglican Church, Ipetu Ijesha in the defunct old Western Region.
Young Daramola started his educational path at Local Authority Primary School, Oloruntedo and Local Authority Modern School, Ipetu-Ijesa respectively in the mid 70s. He then proceeded to high school, but not without some hurdles, he was denied admission severally to be admitted to any secondary school in his hometown- Ipetu Ijesha, but he was resilient and through the moral support of his late father and late Pa Samuel Ayotade Oni, he eventually commenced his secondary education in 1982 at Ikeji-Ile High School.
Following his excellence in academics and student leadership as a class prefect in year 1 to year 4, and the senior prefect of the 1985/86 set, he took a furtherance in Advance Level (A-Level) classes at Ansar-U-deen College, Agege, Lagos, within the timeframe of 1987 to 1988.
He couldn’t progress into the higher institution immediately, as he was faced with financial difficulties, but through his personal commitment and grit, some few years later, he made his way into Abia State University, where he bagged his first degree in Banking and Finance with honours in 1998.
Knowing the career ladder he wants to climb, he resumed back to the lecture halls of Lagos State University, and bagged an MBA in Financial Management in 2010. With a strong quest for learning, he had also bagged a Law degree from the National Open University in 2017, and a Master of Law from the Stratford University in the United Kingdom in 2019.
He started his career at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and has since moved up on the career ladder in the same parastatal. He was formerly the Vice President and Chairman, Lagos Regional Office of Central Bank of Nigeria Cooperative Society, a position where he achieved laudable feats. Currently, he is a Principal Manager in the Anti Money Laundering Unit of Banking Supervision of Central Bank of Nigeria.
He holds the following professional certifications;
• Associate Chartered Institute of Management Accountants
• Associate Member of Institute of Economics of Nigeria.
• Certified Risk Based Examiner (A Lead Bank Examiner)
• Member of Anti Money Laundering Specialist Classified as Confidential.
Apart from educational and professional strides, he is also passionate about grassroots and community development, and has over the years engaged in community projects in his immediate community. He also contributes immensely to youth and women empowerment. His core values are gleaned from the love of God and humanity. When he is not working, he likes to read, and participate in sports like football and juggling. He is also an hymn singer.
Blessed with four children and a virtuous wife, he dedicates his everyday success to the Host of heavens, his beloved parents, Pa and mama M,F Oni, late Pa Samuel Ayotade Oni, Late Apostle Gabriel Ajijola, Mrs Titilope Shopitan and his alma mata- Ikeji-Ile High School. Sunday Daisi Daramola is a person of repute and integrity.
