The burial of Chief Mrs. Esther Adekemi Arowosafe in Ikeji Ile last weekend was a cynosure of all eyes as the unusual happened in the hilltop town when military men stormed the community to give one of their adorable in-laws a befitting burial.
One of the grand children of the deceased was married to a Navy Commodore.
Perhaps to wade off uninvited guests and intruders, men in uniform were seen parading the community on the day of the wake keep and the burial.
The climax of the event was when the Navy Band mounted the stage to play to the admiration of the well spaced guests at the reception.
Chief Mrs. Arowosafe died at 103 years.
The burial ceremony was preceded with a Christian wake- keep at her residence D14, Oke –Ija Street and funeral service at St Jude’s Anglican Church Ikeji-Ile Ijesa, in Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State.
The ceremonies led by the eldest daughter Mrs. Ruth Eniola Onileowo were attended by sizable members of close families, friends and well-wishers. Madam Arowosafe, (Nee Badewa) was survived by children, grand children, great grand children as well as sons and daughters-in-laws, brothers and sisters.
