Pastor Francis Ayo Olaniyi has been appointed as the new Provost of CAC Theological Seminary, Ile-Ife.
Pastor Olaniyi, currently serving as the Coordinator of CAC Theological Seminary, Lagos Campus, will succeed the outgoing Provost, Prof. Olubunmi Oshun, who will retire on July 31, 2024, having reached the mandatory retirement age of 75 as stipulated in the church’s constitution.
Pastor Olaniyi is scheduled to formally assume his new role in August 2024.
Pastor Olaniyi has distinguished himself as a foremost Christian educator and Church pastor of over thirty years.
Born on the 29th of November,1963. He is from Osun State in Nigeria. He attended CACTS Ile-Ife and graduated in the year 1984.He was ordained in 1997.
He once served in CAC Opebi. He also served at CAC Ebute-Meta and CAC Victory Land Ilupeju. He started the English Assembly of CAC Ijesha 2 and CAC Oke Ayo, Ilupeju.
The Cleric also pioneered some seminaries, such as Fountain of Life, Christ Message Ministry Bible College (Kibati) and many more.
Pastor Olaniyi holds both Bachelor and Masters degrees from the University of Ibadan. He is an experienced Christian education instructor, Christian counsellor, and speaker in Christian conferences and seminars. As a seasoned teacher of the word of God, he is currently the Coordinator of the Christ Apostolic Church Theological Seminary, Lagos Campus with responsibility as a pastor in the church.
According to a statement from the Social Media handle of CAC Theological Seminary, Pastor Olaniyi is a “living legend who has been used by God in the past three decades to breed ministers of the gospel with his deep passion to seeing the church in the picture of Pentecostal sanctity, also oversees strong intercessory band. He is happily married to Mojisola and are both blessed with three boys.
“He is a disciplinarian, prayer warrior, teacher to the core, passionate in grooming soldiers for the Kingdom of God and a loving father to all.”
He was appointed the Chairman of CAC Press by the church authority two years ago.
Meanwhile, Christ Apostolic Church Theological Seminary (CACTS), Ile Ife has received the accreditation team of the Association for Christian Theological Education in Africa (ACTEA).
The outgoing Provost, Pastor Professor C.O. Oshun; the Deputy Provost, Pastor Dr. M.O.A. Oluwaniyi; the Registrar, Pastor L.B. Akinyosoye and other members of the CACTS Management received the ACTEA delegates, Professor Emmanuel Oyemomi and Professor C.C. Orgu at the Main Campus of the Seminary domiciled at Ile Ife on Sunday, April 28, 2024, for a two-day accreditation visit.
During the official welcome meeting held at the Conference Room of Pastor Medaiyese Building on Monday, April 29, 2024, the Provost, Professor C.O. Oshun said the Management in its pursuit of excellence and globalisation of the theological contributions of the Seminary has decided to put CACTS on the world map by collaborating with ACTEA, a body with international recognition.
ACTEA exists primarily to offer academic accreditation of theological programmes through a rigorous process of quality assurance and accountability, and to offer institutional networking and support services.
The Lead of the accreditation team, Professor Emmanuel Oyemomi commended the achievements of CACTS so far. He added that ACTEA aims at strengthening churches in Africa through theological education and CACTS equally stands a chance to benefit from the dividends of what ACTEA represents in the global space once the accreditation is consolidated.
