Finally, the Founder and Senior Shepherd of Celestial Church of Christ, Prophet Israel Oladele Ogundipe aka Genesis Global has regained his freedom from incarceration. Prophet Ogundipe was sentenced to two years imprisonment late November last year over an issue he had with a female friend, one Mrs Laide Williams Oni, a Nigerian based in the United Kingdom.
He was said to have defrauded Mrs Olaide Williams Oni to the tune of eleven million Naira, (N11m). The trial judge, Justice Olabisi Akinlade therefore sentenced him to a year imprisonment after she found him guilty of two count charges out of the seven he was charged with.
After several rumours of the release of the philanthropic prophet, the dream eventually became a reality on Sunday April 11, 2021 when the popular cleric did not only breathe freedom but stepped triumphantly into the premises of his Church CCC Genesis Parish at Duro Ishola Street of Alakuko, in Lagos State.
Prophet Ogundipe was led in with wild jubilation by members and admirers who were waving at his chauffeur driven jeep guarded by police and some security persons.
The man of God was later ushered into the Church with banners displaying welcome messages to reflect the mood of the moment, amidst wild songs of praise and thanksgiving led by the freed cleric with back ups by members of the choir of his Church.
In a lengthy and maiden remark, Prophet Ogundipe was all thanks to god for the experience God had made him to go through in what he termed as his wilderness.
According to him it was an experience only made possible by God.
