At last the cause of the sudden death of the rising gospel music star, popularly known as Aduke Gold has been revealed. The revelation was made by the family via some social media handles.

A viral video statement made by his elder brother Pastor Ajayi Aderogbo revealed that the talented artiste died of cervical cancer.

Cervical Cancer

According to Pastor Ajayi, Aduke Gold passed away due to cervical cancer, a type of cancer that affects the cervix. He stated, “She was ill; she had cervical cancer… She was taken to UCH in Ibadan, but unfortunately, she died.” The family has obtained a death certificate, and Pastor Ajayi urged those spreading false information to cease.

Aduke Gold’s brother expressed frustration with the media for disseminating rumors rather than seeking accurate information from credible sources. He shared that Aduke Gold began her music career as a choir member in their church, The Acts of the Apostles Gospel Church, Ifako, Agege, Lagos and rose to fame while remaining faithful and committed to her faith.

This was also confirmed by her sister tagging her disclosure “Authorization to disclose cause of death granted by a family member,” her elder sister confirmed that Aduke Gold died of cervical cancer.

“It is heartbreaking that our talented, beautiful baby girl gospel artist died of advanced cervical cancer complicated by obstructive uropathy. She did not die of operation and no operation was done on her. She did not die of fibroid and no fibroid surgery (Myomectomy) was done on her. She did not die of depression.”

Aduke Gold spent only two weeks at UCH before she died.

Denial

The family also denied a circulating clip on social media purportedly mirroring the late artiste on her way to operation theatre.

“She was not the lady in the green theatre gown being circulated on social media. ……And yes, she had pap smear at different places which came out negative.”

The family had to send these to stem the spread of false information being circulated since her demise on the 12th of august 2024.

The family warned, “Whoever is saying what is not should stop it, our daughter was ill, she had cervical cancer, she was taken to UCH in Ibadan and unfortunately, she died. The information spreading around is false.”

Burial arrangements

In the same vein, burial plans have also been made public by the family. The family announced that Aduke Gold will be laid to rest on August 23 at a location yet to be disclosed. The family has planned a series of programmes, including a candlelight ceremony on Wednesday, August 21, Artistes’ Night on Thursday, August 22, and funeral service on Friday, August 23, 2024.
